The Cecchetti Society Trust Vocational Classical Ballet Awards incorporating the Fewster Cecchetti Scholarship (FCS) and the Barbara Geoghegan Award (BGA) will take place on Sunday 24th November 2024 at Elmhurst Ballet School, Birmingham, B5 7UH.
The Cecchetti Society Trust is delighted that talented young dancers will participate in the Vocational Classical Ballet Awards in Birmingham. The Awards incorporate the Fewster Cecchetti Scholarship, the Barbara Geoghegan Award and the Cyril Beaumont Scholarship. All competitors will participate in an adjudicated ballet class onstage containing unset work and specified traditional Cecchetti exercises. Those entered for the Barbara Geoghegan Award and Cyril Beaumont Scholarship will also perform a solo classical variation.
Awards Adjudicators are Sara Gallie, former Soloist of the Royal Ballet and David Yow, former Principal of Birmingham Royal Ballet. Romany Pajdak, Soloist of the Royal Ballet will teach the onstage classes. Classes will be accompanied by Jonnie Gait.

The Awards are open to a public audience and the Trustees hope many supporters will be able to attend. Tickets are priced £15.00 Adults and £8.00 for Students and those aged 16 years and under. A ticket allows the holder to attend the programme throughout the day. Tickets can be purchased using the link below. We look forward to welcoming you!
AUDIENCE REFRESHMENTS
Audience members will be able to purchase tea, coffee and juice in the breaks but please note payment for drinks will be cash only. Food is not available to purchase on the school site and there are no nearby shops, so please bring your own food.
TRAVEL
BY TRAIN - Birmingham New Street is the nearest station. There are plenty of taxis at the station and Elmhurst Ballet School is a 10/15 minute journey by taxi. There will be a contact number at the registration desk to call taxis from Elmhurst to the station for return journey, but it is advised to book well in advance of the time you wish to be collected.
BY CAR - On site parking is available. Turn left as you enter the main gate and park in one of the spaces in the lower drive. Please do not park by the main school entrance. The centre of Birmingham has is a Clean Air Zone. You are advised to check if you need to pay a charge for your vehicle at https://www.brumbreathes.co.uk/
NB Elmhurst Ballet School has a NO SMOKING policy on the whole site (not just in the main school building).
